Locomotives of the State Belt Railroad (and Successors)

The State Belt ran four-coupled saddle tank engines in the early days, then preferred larger six-coupled tender engines from a variety of builders. World War II brought 6 ALCo S-2 diesels to the roster, the final locomotives built new for the Belt or its successors until 2018. The roster was gradually whittled down to just numbers 23 and 25 by the time of shutdown in 1993. LB Railco/San Francisco Bay Railroad supplemented these with a re-engined Baldwin for a time after revival and has recently added a new Knoxville SE10B to the roster.
